Former Director of OIES; Administrator Northern (Alaskan) Pipeline Agency; VP Oil Sands Total E&P Canada Ltd; Director of Policy office of International Energy Agency; Assistant Deputy Minister Energy (Canadian Government); previously held senior government positions in natural gas, nuclear and uranium, petroleum, economic regulation and environment. Research geologist. Has advised numerous governments and companies in North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America. Associate Fellow of Chatham House; academic coordinator/energy for the Club of Madrid; member of The Global Policy Council of Bertlesmann Foundation and external reviewer to Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research; author of numerous papers, articles and reports on energy, geopolitics and geology.
Currently Sr. Vice President, Strategy, Commercial and Government Affairs for StatoilHydro's Canadian subsidiary.
