Research geologist. Has advised numerous governments and companies in North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America. Associate Fellow of Chatham House; academic coordinator/energy for the Club of Madrid; member of The Global Policy Council of Bertlesmann Foundation and external reviewer to Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research; author of numerous papers, articles and reports on energy, geopolitics and geology.

Currently Sr. Vice President, Strategy, Commercial and Government Affairs for StatoilHydro's Canadian subsidiary.
